Man arrested in failed carjackings

first_imgPEARBLOSSOM – Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Pearblossom man Thursday on suspicion of carrying a gun that discharged outside a Wal-Mart, attempting two carjackings and trying to rob patrons at two eateries. Carlos Flores, 23, was arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, carjacking and robbery, sheriff’s Deputy Dave Jennings said. He said Flores apparently came “unglued” when a firearm he was carrying accidentally discharged outside Wal-Mart on 47th Street East. Jennings said Flores went to a nearby Mirastar service station, fired shots and stole a man’s wallet in a botched carjacking attempt. The deputy said Flores also fired shots at a woman at the entrance of a Jack in the Box in another failed carjacking. Next, Jennings said, Flores went to a Denny’s restaurant, took money off tables and was arrested. There were no reports of injuries, but deputies said they are concerned about a man who was at pump No.5 in a red Ford Focus at the gas station. They asked anyone with information to call the Palmdale station at (661) 272-2400. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
